But it actually does manage to get the personalities of Bugs and Daffy right, and they interact the way they did in some of their cartoon matchups. It's also amusing to see Bugs Bunny address an actual doctor as "Doc".

Though beloved and celebrated on theater and TV screens for generations of fans, Bugs Bunny and his cartoon cohorts have also had an equally lengthy career in print.




Yeah, Western was in really big trouble by that point. At least it wasn't another "capturing the crook" storyline.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have had this issue. The artwork isn't horrible (aside from the fact that characters don't seem to be looking at anything in particular), just a bit too cutesy for WB. At least it's not as off-model and rushed looking as Filmation's Tom and Jerry at its worst.
ReplyDeleteAnd, compared to what the contemporary UNCLE SCROOGE comics looked like at this time, this art was quite good!
ReplyDeleteNick: "Capture the crook" was a common cliche in the later comics. Some were quite good, some were terrible. There are a couple of excellent specials they did with Porky and Sylvester solving a mystery, and I plan to show them in the future.
